Level One Principles of Leadership
An important part of these courses is the emphasis on practice and experience. One of the best ways of learning is through doing, a principle that can be seen in the experience of the early disciples.
Multi-cultural London is an excellent place to train students in Leadership. The area itself can be seen as an extension of the classroom. Students are encouraged to be involved in the practice of leadership through Cell Church ministry, Church planting or the co-leadership of existing Churches. The courses are planned to help students experience more of the power of the Holy Spirit in their lives and to enable them to grow to a greater maturity in Christ. Time is given for Bible Study, prayer and reflection.
Modules on the Leadership Course include Biblical Studies, Leadership, Personal Growth, Christian Theology and Practice. The level one course is particularly suitable for students with a limited experience of theological study. All overseas students study English at this level. This is especially important however for students opting for Levels Two and Three with a view to university requirements.
This introductory course is of one year duration. Because of the modular structure of the course students can begin their studies at the beginning of any of the three terms, September, January or April.
During this course students may consider three options. Option 1, to simply complete the course and receive a school certificate
Option 2, to proceed for a second year to the higher level courses without registering for a distance learning degree.
Option 3, to proceed to Level Two or Three with a view to working towards external degrees. With this option a student will need to allow adequate time in order for registration at a university to be accepted and completed.
Level Two – Theological and Biblical Studies
The level of study on this course is considered to be the equivalent of a degree level. It is especially relevant for students who have completed level one in the School or who have been involved in some disciplined biblical study elsewhere.
The course is not directly linked to a university. However, it does relate to the general structure and content needed for an external B.A. degree in Theology. The course in the School is of three years duration consisting of three terms per year. International Students needing a student visa are expected to study on the School premises for 15 hours per week. The first year’s modules include: Biblical Studies, Christian History and Doctrine and Engagement with the Modern World. The Second and Third year’s modules include: Biblical Studies, Christian History and Doctrine, Ministry and Mission. The final year of the course may include work towards a dissertation that can be completed in the United Kingdom or elsewhere.
Support to students is given in terms relevant lectures, access to library facilities, personal tutoring, facilities for private study and internet access. Universities in the United Kingdom normally require that students have a level of fluency in the English Language. Classes are available in the School for students needing to enter for the International English Language Test System (IELTS).
Students on this course should to register for a particular distance learning B.A. Honours Degree in Theology indicated by the school. Sufficient time needs to be allowed for this separate process of registration.
Level Three – Theological/Cross –Cultural Leadership
Entry to this course is normally restricted to students who have already obtained a degree in any discipline or students who have had at least two years of significant leadership experience in the context of the Christian Church. The course is in relation with “across” (www.across.uk.net) and includes modules under the general headings of: Communication, Management and Ethics.
The context of future ministry for a student may be here in the United Kingdom or overseas. In either geographical context, there is the intention that through the course students should have a good understanding of cross-cultural leadership and apply this understanding to practice. The student at the end of the course should be able to understand contrasting world views and in a culturally relevant way, communicate the Gospel.
The course is a route to obtaining a distance learning M.A. degree. There are three exit points depending on the number of credits awarded to the student. Point one, a postgraduate Certificate, point two, a postgraduate Diploma and the final stage, an MA in either Theology or Cross-Cultural Leadership.
The course in the School is a three-year course, each year consisting of three terms. Foreign students study 15 hours per week on the school premises. Support is given to students in terms of lectures relevant to the degree course, access to library facilities, personal tuition and where necessary IELTS studies. This will enable particular students to reach the level of English normally required for degree level studies in the United Kingdom.
Students need to register independently through” across” for the accredited degree. Overseas students should note that registration with across will not in itself entitle them to apply for a student visa. For the information with regard to this process please see www.ind.homeoffice.gov.uk or contact the school.
On-line Brazilian Degree Courses

This is an excellent opportunity for those who have the time available to study for qualifications that may assist them on their return to Brazil. Tests take place at the school normally on a monthly basis. The Brazilian Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC) has approved this system of study
